Edith was less than six years old when her father took her
to the orphanage.[1] By
age sixteen, Edith was living with her deceased mother’s sister, Margaret
McCormick, and working as a stenographer.[2] She
married Earl Gordon Walker in 1914 at the age of twenty.[3]
The couple had two sons: John Alan and Earl Gordon.[4] By
1930, the family resided in Los Angeles, California where Edith passed away on
24 June 1941.[5]
Both of Edith’s sons became Catholic priests.
